SHINE A LIGHT ON SLAVERY DAY
Ignoring the fact that slavery still exists today would be easy, but it wouldn't be right. The first step toward ending modern day slavery is to start having real conversations about the 27 million people currently enslaved.
Join us and raise your voice for the men, women, and children trapped in slavery around the world today, and circulate awareness by drawing a RED X on your hand for the day.
Shine a Light on Slavery Day originates from enditmovement.com, a coalition leading an international fight for freedom. By posting a picture with your red "X" and the hashtag #enditmovement, you can join the worldwide push for greater awareness.
As we shine a light on slavery today, let's pray for the protection and restoration of purity and innocence in Amarillo and all our TFC communities. The prevention of exploitation in our local areas is one of the central prayer and mission focuses of Our Care and Compassion Group. Father gave me a word in 2014 that for every one blanket we pray over and give away, many will never know the crisis of exploitation.
Since then, we have prayed over and given away 270 blankets to victims of abuse and human trafficking, and, more recently, to children of refugee families in Amarillo. We know God is moving and intervening on behalf of the lives of His people in our communities.
Together we can #EndItinAmarillo
